Dreams

September 27, 2008 at 5:33 am (William) (, , , )

They had been madly in love. He had dreamed of marriage, children, growing old with her. He had dreamed of the sound of children and soft whispers between lovers deep in the night. Now he had nightmares full of screeching tires and silent life support machines.

The Perfect Gentleman

September 25, 2008 at 5:53 pm (Jallahan) (, , )

Protected only by egocentricity and overconfidence, Leroy once again strolled towards the bright lights of the city. Tonight he would find acceptance and success, again. But one night he hopes to feel the razor burn of disillusion and despair. Next time, he wouldn’t mess up his hair so damn meticulously.

Ogle

September 25, 2008 at 5:51 pm (Moonchild) ()

This is the longest eight hours of my life.

I am by my lonesome, in my little cubicle, with paperwork done the day before.

The only thing left staring at me is a white screen.

It says, “…ogle.”

And I did.

This was the longest eight hours of my life.

A few years and a few conquests. The reasons why I loved you or could even tolerate your presence continue to evade me. I can look at your picture now and not feel empty. I only feel sorry for you, losing someone like me who offered you the whole world.

Meeting

September 25, 2008 at 3:29 am (diwangLaya) (, )

We were sitting in a room, and I don’t know if they’ve forgotten I was there. They all spoke in Chinese. Three, four, five minutes passed, and I was still sitting there, clueless. After a while, it felt as though I was watching a talk show with a boring host.

Drifting Love

September 25, 2008 at 3:26 am (Will Tyson) (, )

She looks at me like a sailor looks at port. She’ll settle in for a week or two but just as quickly as she anchored, she’ll cast off. I’ll stay immobilized with fear until the day I pass, betraying myself by confirming how great it was to just know her.

While America Choked

September 23, 2008 at 3:57 am (Ra) (, )

The old man spoke. He no longer bothered to try and hide his lies. He knew that he could depend on those who loved their Party more than their Country. They were the traitors who greedily sacrificed their children’s future, for a tax cut. The crowds cheered while America choked.

Honor In Fate

September 23, 2008 at 3:22 am (Jeremy) (, )

It’s cold here on the Argentine Pampas. All of the beef cattle have died. Pedro looks forlorn, for he too has drawn a long straw. They think there is honor in fate, but I will not perish so they may live. The knife glistens in my hand before I swing…

Great Depression II

September 23, 2008 at 3:18 am (Ra) (, , )

Suddenly everyone became afraid and stopped spending their money. Prices doubled, then doubled again, as people counted the days until they could no longer afford their rent. Still, they continued their lives as best they could, despite knowing that they would soon be a part of the Great Depression II.

PDA

I watched her walk in with her boyfriend. He couldn’t keep his hands off her. It wasn’t right. It wasn’t right because it was such an intimate moment. It wasn’t right because it was in the middle of the subway.

It wasn’t right because she should have been with me…
