The beer tasted bitter and warm in my mouth, but i kept pulling at it, determined to be ‘one of the guys’. The rough joking around i could handle, even the friendly tap on the bum, but i knew i’d never be one if they kept staring at my rack.

GOAL!!!
The crowd erupted, the ball hurtling towards the goals.
Everyone held their breathe, ecstatic looks spreading over the blue-supporters’ faces.
Victory was assured, nothing could stop them now!
The ball hit the post, and bounced harmlessly away. A sigh rippled through the crowd.
Disappointment, maybe even heartbreak replaced joy.

She laughed, shrill and fake, but i still felt gratified.
“So, do you maybe wanna come round to my place?”
She looked me in the eye, and, in the iciest tone possible, said,
“You must be bloody mad… I’ve only been nice to you to get closer to your friend.”
